Taìba is located just 70 kilometres (about an hour’s drive on the highway) from Fortaleza making it a very convenient and quick trip to the city's international airport. If you want to start your adventure from the moment you arrive in Brazil it is also possible to travel most of the journey along the beach – a 4x4 is advisable for this but it is possible in a normal car if you know where to get on and off the beach and have a tide timetable handy. Select TERMINAL PORTUARIO DO PECÉM (ESTADO DO CEARÁ) and select month and year.
Taìba is about 70km north of Fortaleza. To leave Fortaleza you take the BR222 towards Paracuru and get onto the CE085 also heading to Paracuru. Pass the turning for Cumbuco and continue to follow signs for Paracuru/Taìba. After the turning for Pecem turn right at the roundabout for Taìba. From this point it is another 13km to Taìba. Continue until the next roundabout and follow signs for Taìba. Continue straight for approximately 4km where you will turn right to Taìba (the turning is well indicated).
Upon entering Taìba there is a petrol station on the left hand side. Follow the road which curves to the right for 300 metres or so and take the turning on the left hand side onto an un-tarmaced cobbled road (there are many signs at this turning including one for "Marola". Take the 2nd turning on the right and follow the road to the end (the beach). At the T junction turn left and drive for 200 metres or so. The house is on the right - look out for the windmill! You can also follow the signs for Villa Marola which is a resort just 200 metres futher on from the house, also front line to the beach.
Look out for the windmill and you will easily spot the house. Next door to the house on the beach is a little beach bar called "Luz do Sol".
